ADOPT A COP INFORMATION

The following is information for local officers interested in enrolling in the Adopt A Cop program at Ground Rules Academy. This is a summary of the program terms provided on the Adopt A Cop BJJ website.

Benefits

  • Local officers will be allowed to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Ground Rules Academy free of charge until they graduate from the Adopt A Cop program.

  • Graduation from the Adopt A Cop program will occur when the officer reaches blue belt or has trained for 18 months, whichever comes first.

  • After the officer graduates, he or she will receive our 10% first-responder discount towards tuition.

Requirements

  • Contact us to express your interest in the program.

  • All officers must apply at the Adopt A Cop Application Page, and are subject to the following requirements:

    • Adopt A Cop requires each officer to attend 8 class sessions per month.

    • At each training session, the officer must take a photo and post it to Instagram, tagging @adoptacopbjj and using the hashtag #adoptacopbjj

  • The first officer to enroll will train for free until he or she graduates from the Adopt A Cop program.

  • Subsequent officers pay tuition of $50/month to Ground Rules Academy, which will be reimbursed by the Adopt A Cop program.

  • Ground Rules Academy is an affiliate of Darcio Lira Jiu Jitsu, which has a dress code for training in the gi. An official Darcio Lira gi must be purchased and worn during all gi training sessions.
